Air & Waste Management Association
2009 Annual Conference and Exhibition
"Driving Environmental Progress"

The Air & Waste Management Association will be holding its Annual International Conference and Exhibition (ACE) at Cobo Center from June 16 to June 19, 2009.  The Air & Waste Management Association's Annual Conference & Exhibition is the preeminent event for environmental professionals with the strongest technical program and most up-to-date information available anywhere.

The 2009 ACE is a forum that enables public and private environmental professionals from across sectors and industries to come together to hear the latest environmental developments and understand the environmental issues and challenges that are pertinent to the Great Lakes Region, the nation, and the world.  The conference theme is "Driving Environmental Progress" because attendees will have an opportunity to focus on the factors that stimulate and underlie positive environmental change from the perspective of a region marked by a long industrial history but rich in natural resources.

The conference will feature presentations and panel discussions on important cutting-edge issues, including

  • Great Lakes Protection and Diversions
  • National, Regional and Global Climate Change Initiatives
  • Impacts of Potential Clean Air Act Amendments
  • The Integration of the Sustainability Movement and the Manufacturing Industry
  • International Environmental Standards and Trade Practices
  • Transboundary Issues and their Impact on US Environmental Policy
  • The Cleanup and Reuse of Brownfields
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Advanced Transportation Technologies
Draft Manuscripts
Due March 13, 2009
